The period of Christ, and the persecution of Christians. Just under 1 ¼” (1.21”) in length. Hilt with a bulbous pommel. Leaf shaped blade, pierced for suspension. Said to represent the Roman gladius sword, these were awarded to Roman soldiers wounded in battle. Surface textured from burial and now restored in 24karat gold. Mounted on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
