Roman women wore necklaces with small pendants symbolizing many things from fruit and sea shells to erotic subjects. This example is slightly tapered it bulbous ends, with significance now lost. It is about 5/8” height plus the suspension ring. The 24karat gold surface has been restored and it is suspended from an 18” gilt silver neck chain. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
