Predynastic and representing the earliest of formed glass beads. Beige glass, over 7/8” (0.91”)length, heated and wrapped in the plastic state over a mandrel coated with a release agent. This example in its most primitive state with the folds of glass clearly evident. The stringing hole tapered as was the mandrel, which allowed for its removal after cooling. Chip to one end.
