These small globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome. Some have been described as prostitute’s pendants and that view is widely published on the internet. This example is 8.2mm, well over 1/4" diameter of slightly elongated spherical form with a nub to the bottom. It has been professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored. It is suspended on a Sterling silver 18” neck chain for modern wear and is jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
