ANCIENT ROMAN WOMAN'S PENDANT NECKLACE 1ST-3RD CENTURY
These small globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome, sometimes described as prostitute’s pendants a view that is widely published on the internet. This example is large for these, 13.3mm, over 1/2” diameter of spherical form with the lower 2/3 skillfully modeled in a deeply ribbed surface. It has been professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored. It is suspended on a Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear and is gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
