These small globular pendants were popular among common women in ancient Rome, sometimes described as prostitute’s pendants a view that is widely published on the internet. This example is 8.2mm, about 1/4” diameter of rounded pyramidal form. It may reference a merchant’s weight. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored.
