Classic heart form. over 7/8” (0.76”) width. Near flat form incised with a large well-delineated trefoil, a favorite Viking form. The bottom element with an angular cipher, perhaps a rune. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface textured from burial.
