EASTERN EUROPEAN CHRISTIAN CROSS, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
17th-18th century. Silvered bronze, over 1 5/8" total height. Raised border delineating a cross with broad beams, the cross beam above center, and enclosing a stick cross with Cyrillic inscriptions at the terminals. Reverse with a similar cross with Cyrillic inscriptions. The outside edges in flowing baroque elements. Well preserved with the front well delineated and the back with some wear, probably from rubbing in prayer. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored and on a modern Sterling silver-neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
