ELEGANT EASTERN EUROPEAN CHRISTIAN CROSS, 17th-18th CENTURY

Ukraine/Russia. Gilt bronze, just under 1” (0.98”) in height. Fine form with cross beam above center and the beams flared to the ends. The front with a vacant skeletal cross with a vignette at the beam terminals. The reverse plain as with earliest examples. The surface is worn and textured from burial partially obscuring details. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and on an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver 18” neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift box with Certificate of Authenticity.
