Good example of the fully evolved form. Deeply modeled with rounded edges and contoured back made by the lost wax technique. The cusped top heart indicative of a full transition from the naturalistic form which was used widely as well. Broad border enclosing and forming a trefoil, an iconic Viking symbol. Just over 5/8" height plus the suspension loop. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
