Gilt bronze. Round, of roped section. 0.49” inside diameter and 0.61” outside, 1.6mm thick. The spiral or helix was a Viking favorite form, used in art an weapons, with spiritual significance. The use of beard rings by Vikings is well documented though very few genuine examples survive. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished for modern wear with the 24karat gold overlay restored on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
