Slightly over 1 1/4 “(1.27”) height including the suspension loop. Bronze, cast, and chased in minute detail as the raised edge crescent moon with baluster tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. The crescent form body with lattice or hound’s tooth raised motif. The combination undoubtedly represents an astronomical event with supernatural significance. Above, a nubbed four spoke wheel. Undoubtedly of astrological significance, now lost. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Fine quality. Excellent condition with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on an 18” modern gilt silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
