The High Gothic Period following the Crusades. Gilt bronze, just over 1 5/8” (1.66”) height with the suspension ring. The cross beam centered with crossed beam terminals forming “crutches” from the Jerusalem cross which made it five crosses in one, commemorating the five wounds of Christ. The junction with a saltire or St Andrew’s cross. Both sides identically figured. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on an 18” gilt Sterling silver 18” neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
