Period of the universal Christian conversion and the early Crusades. Size 3 with narrow (2.9mm) band flared to the shoulders. Raised oval bezel cut with four sets of two marks forming a chevron. Used to impress the signature of the owner in wax or clay. Language differences and illiteracy were barriers to trade. Signets allowed for universal verification of a signature facilitating trade at distance. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored.
