Just under 3/4 height, tear-shaped in full round, probably representing a fruit. The back flat with a hollow center. Eating was a social and cultural pastime for Romans with feasts often lasting several hours. Food, including fruits, fish, and shellfish were popular subjects in Roman art and fashion. Alternatively, it is suggested in many references that these were worn by prostitutes who practiced openly in ancient Rome. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface renewed and with Sterling silver neck chain. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
