The period of conversion to Christianity for Vikings. A remnant of the old pagan mythology in the form of an anatomically accurate heart, comprised of paired large swirls with pointed bottom and nubs at the bottom quarter points. A curious throwback to Viking pagan religion, elements of which were blended with Christianity. Such “transitional” elements were common and persist even today in the form of superstitions and belief in the occult. The form is unmistakably Viking, with addorsed circles or scrolls over and enclosing a diamond. The top cusp and pointed bottom clearly define the pagan heart while the composition somewhat obscures it overall. Slightly over ½” (0.53”) height plus the suspension loop. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
