After the fall of Rome when Christianity spread through the eastern remnants of the Roman Empire. Gilt bronze, just over 1 1/8” height plus the loop. Delicate open work with tear shaped beams with “crutches” in the Jerusalem cross form which makes it five crosses in one. The center with a clear Wheel of Fortune, embodying that Pagan symbol as often was the case during the conversions to Christianity. Well detailed and especially intricate for these. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and suspended on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
