Just over 1/2” (0.53”) height plus the suspension loop. Made by the open face mold method. Broad heart form of slightly domed section. The field with a trefoil of iconic form with scrolled stem. Raised borders of elaborate scrolling foliate form. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Light surface texture from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored on an 18” gilt sterling silver neck chain for modern wear.
