Just over 1” width, made by the open face mold method. Broad heart form with nubbed quarter points and of the slightly domed section. The field with a rectangular piercing, the reason now lost. The form of the heart is stylized with the top rounded as natural and bottom point clearly delineated. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Light surface texture from burial. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored on a Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
