The field with a formalized trefoil or fleur de lys with addorsed scrolls above. Thin, a low rounded section, produced by the open face mold technique. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature.
