Just under 1/2" height (0.48”) plus the suspension loop. The Viking heart in its fully developed form cusp top formed by the terminals of the broad borders. The field with a formalized trefoil or fleur de lis with addorsed scrolls above. Thick, of high rounded section, produced by the open face mold technique. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface worn from use. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on a gilt neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
