Slightly over 5/8 “(0.66”) height including the suspension loop. Bronze, cast, and chased in minute detail as the double raised edge crescent moon with baluster tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. Raised edge crescent with three figures in the field, now worn and unidentifiable. Undoubtedly of astrological significance, now lost. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Fine quality. Excellent condition with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on an 18” modern gilt silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
