Gilt bronze, about 3/8” x 5/8” (0.36: x 0.58”) with raised edges and a relief “dog bone” motif, likely with spiritual significance. The end with saw tooth configuration. It is the broken end of a fine Viking woman warrior's bronze bracelet. It was broken upon the death of the woman. Vikings were highly skilled metallurgists, and as a result, breaking metal had supernatural significance for them. Viking weapons and accouterments were broken for burial with their owners. The surface is lightly textured from burial. It has been professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted to an 18” gilt Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. It comes with certification of authenticity, and gift boxed. About as fine as these come!
