The period of conversion to Christianity for Vikings. A remnant of the old pagan mythology. A clearly delineated heart formed by broad bands with scrolling terminals at the quarter points. Central trefoil on triangle. A curious throwback to Viking pagan religion, elements of which were blended with Christianity. Such “transitional” elements were common and persist even today in the form of superstitions and belief in the occult. The form is unmistakably the Viking, heart form found in Viking period jewelry as well. Under 3/4” (0.73”) height plus the loop, professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored, on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear.
