About 5/8” height plus the loop. The Viking heart in its fully developed form and especially high rounded section with a central heart in its natural (uncusped) form on a foliate field. Substantial with high relief decoration, produced by the open face mold technique. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored on a gilt Sterling silver 18” neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
