1” width. Broad heart with V and trefoil (?). Surface worn from use and burial. Made by the open face mold process. The foliate trefoil was a very popular motif for Viking hearts. For Vikings, the heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, attributes of the warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored for contemporary wear on a modern Sterling silver neck chain. Gift boxed with a certification of authenticity.
