Slightly over 1” (1.01”) width. Gilt bronze, cast, and chased in detail as the crescent moon with baluster tips representing Sol the sun and Mani the moon. The body finished in detail with raised edges enclosing scrolling foliage. Elongated baluster column to the top. Viking worship involved the heavenly bodies on which they relied for guidance when sailing. Fine quality and preservation with the 24karat gold overlay restored and mounted on an 18” modern gilt Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear.
