True silver, over ¾” (0.79”) total height with raised beaded edges and relief depiction of Durga, the Mother figure with multiple arms and astride her lion. Associated with protection and war, Durga is also the embodiment of motherhood.  As Tibetan culture was virtually unchanged for centuries before the Chinese Communist take over of the 1950’s, dating is nearly impossible and even specialist scholars speculate in centuries rather than decades. This example shows genuine wear and use and probably dates to the 19th century, though possibly earlier. On an 18” sterling silver neck chain for modern wear.
