Gilt bronze, under 1 ¼” height (1.21”). The cross beam above center and all four beam terminals are crutched or trefoil, each enclosing a mask, presumably a saint. The front with finely delineated Corpus Christi below the charges. The reverse with a figure of Mary below the crown of thorns. Finely detailed to Renaissance standards and retaining most original gold surface in protected areas. Beautiful contrast with the aged bronze. A modern suspension ring and 18” gilt silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
